Lion in the Street (one of a kind original)

This piece was created as part of the 2010 Creature Feature show. This year my series was inspired by my inexplicable love of vintage 1960's graphics in German memory games. This piece was based on a vintage lion charm that I recently purchased and a 1968 memory game graphic. I combined the two to create an original new composition. This piece has the vintage appeal of the original graphic and charm, but is my own original design. The media is Derwent Aquarelle Watercolor pencils on watercolor paper. These have excellent light fastness.

Matted and framed in Ash. The Ash frame is a natural finish blonde/neutral wood that fits in with many decor.
